Prayer Resources

There are so many ways to pray. Our prayer lives need variety to keep our faith healthy, in the same way that we need a variety of foods and movement to keep our bodies healthy! Below are just some of the ways we encourage creative forms of prayer at Spirit of Grace. If you are in need of prayer, or you want to discuss how to cultivate meaningful, creative prayer practices in your own life, please reach out to Pastor Miranda!

Morning Breath Prayers

Breath prayers are one of the simplest forms of prayer, and are meant to be easily incorporated into a busy life to provide grounding and connection to God when we need it most. Take a few moments to slow your body and pay attention to your breath.

Pray the first line as you breathe in, and pray the last line as you breathe out, repeating at least three times.

Interactive Prayer Installations

Throughout the year, we often incorporate creative and tangible ways to engage with prayer in the worship space through Interactive Prayer Installations. We write our prayers on paper, rocks, or fabric, and watch them come together into a larger piece of art, reflecting the ways in which all of our prayers come together to bring about greater good in the world. Some past installations include a burning bush or flowing river, which held our prayers of lament and hope for Creation amidst the ongoing climate crisis.

Prayer Labyrinth

In 2024, we installed a cement patio behind our church building, and stained a prayer labyrinth on top of it. This prayer space is open to the entire community at any time of the day or the week. Simply come to the campus and follow the signs leading you back to the prayer labyrinth behind the church building on the west side of the property.  If you’re unfamiliar with a prayer labyrinth, take a look at this informational graphic to learn more about this walking meditation form of prayer. T
